Results of Simul against Charles de Villiers - 10 Sept. 2013

We were extremely privileged last night to have FM Charles de Villiers (4 x South African Chess Champion) play a simul against the members of the Goodwood Chess Club. A total of 13 club members took up the challenge to see how they would fare against one of our country's best chess players. Below are the results of that simul:

Simul against Charles de Villiers - 10 September 2013

I am pleased to announce that FM Charles de Villiers has agreed to do a simultaneous match against whoever is interested in playing him next week Tuesday , 10 September, at the Goodwood Chess Club. Charles has a FIDE rating of 2252 and has been South African Chess Champion in 1975, 1977, 1981 and 1985. 

Groundrules for a simultaneous match:

1) The player giving the exhibition (Charles de Villiers)  will take the White pieces in every game. 

2) Your responsibility is to be ready to make a move when Charles de Villiers reaches your board. Don't make a move while he is away from the board, and don't stop and think only when he gets back to you. Instead, wait for him to come over to your board, and then make your move. 

3) Remember, at the conclusion of the game, to thank your opponent, win or lose. Good luck!

Will those that are interested in playing in the simultaneous please let me know before next Monday, 9 September, so that we know how many boards to set up for the match?
